In our country, it should be restructured in order to be livable with its settlements, infrastructure, job opportunities, educational and cultural activities and structures. In this process, it is our duty to leave a sustainable and livable environment to the next generations. It is known that one of the most important factors in the deterioration of the environmental order and the increase in global warming is the increasing urban structures with urbanization. This situation makes the importance of sustainability in urban transformation even more important. In this direction, we should not see the implementation of sustainability in urban transformation as only the renewal of buildings. In the process of urban transformation, we should pay attention to the issues of protecting the environment and not disturbing the environmental order.

Sustainability is a model that aims to meet human needs without harming the environment by using natural resources in a planned way. This model aims to meet not only the needs of present-day people, but also the needs of future generations. Healthy construction can be achieved with sustainability. In this context, the implementation of green buildings gains importance. In this context, green building certification systems have been developed. The common purpose of each certification system is to prevent the deterioration of human health caused by structures and has different conditions according to countries.

In this study, the possibility and limitations of evaluating sustainability in urban transformation practices in our country will be investigated
2023-03-30T00:00:00+03:00 Copyright (c) 2023 https://www.tasjournal.com/index.php/tas/article/view/61 Danger Factors In Terms Of Health & Safety Parameters In The Construction Industry 2023-05-30T18:42:25+03:00 Gürdal ÖZCAN ozcangurdal1116@gmail.com Mehmet Fatih ALTAN mehmetfatihtaltan@arel.edu.tr
Factors such as the replacement of human and machine power by electricity and electronics have caused the workforce to face risks that cannot be avoided in working life. For this reason, in order to increase the safety of workplaces, taking certain precautions with a proactive approach in advance and the concept of occupational safety have gained importance. Informing employees about occupational health and safety and taking measures to protect them from occupational accidents contribute to strengthening the basis of occupational health and safety.

In this study, the status of occupational health and safety in the construction sector in Turkey, its benefits in terms of employers, workers and the economy, the unique working conditions of the construction sector have been examined, and it is aimed to present the causes of accidents in this sector and the precautions that can be taken. It is appropriate to separate the main potential causes as human and physical, and it has been determined that the reasons such as lack of discipline, carelessness, bad habits, regular planning of the workplace, defective materials, lack of personal protective equipment are potential dangers for occupational accidents. In this study, it is aimed to examine the construction sites included in the construction sector and to prepare a sample hazard analysis and risk assessment, health and safety plan. An online survey was conducted to determine the awareness of civil engineering and construction technician students of the Occupational Health and Safety culture. Concluding that it is important to raise the awareness of these people about occupational safety to a sufficient level in their work lives, it is emphasized that the necessity of cooperation between the company, the sector, the state and universities so that they can do their jobs more objectively.
2023-05-30T00:00:00+03:00 Copyright (c) 2023 https://www.tasjournal.com/index.php/tas/article/view/62 EXPLOITATION OF RAINWATER HARVEST WITHIN THE SCOPE OF SUSTAINABILITY 2023-05-30T18:54:13+03:00 Heba Sama SABSABİ sabsabi94.h@gmail.com Mehmet Fatih ALTAN mehmetfatihtaltan@arel.edu.tr
In these recent times, when we have begun to feel the effects of water scarcity with climate change in our world and in our country, the demand for technologies related to water resources and water reuse is increasing. Especially with the increasing population. The negative impact of unstable industrial activities on water scarcity, which is one of the problems caused by climate change is increasing rapidly. Therefore, the reuse of waste water is great important today. The development of new strategies for the proper use and management of resources, as well as the efficient use of water and measures for water conservation, is great important. In this context, as measures that can be taken within the scope of the protection and reuse of water in buildings; detection of possible losses and leaks in in plumbing and building maintenance, the use of alternative water sources such as rain water, the reduction of water consumption by developing new technologies, and the reuse of domestic waste water by treatment. Among these, collecting rain water from the roofs of buildings and using it for domestic water needs or garden irrigation has an easier installation than other innovative technologies. Nowadays, there is an increasing interest in environment friendly buildings and new building systems, which are described as green buildings. In addition, terms that express an environmentalist understanding such as eco-conscious, eco-friendly, green, low or zero carbon emission, sustainable have also begun to be used to express structural terms. For the ensure sustainability of water resources, there is a need to develop technologies for the reuse of rainwater in buildings, along with measures such as water conservation. In this study, it is aimed to examine and evaluate green building examples by using water collection systems in buildings and taking the concept of sustainability into the center of rain water.
2023-05-30T00:00:00+03:00 Copyright (c) 2023 https://www.tasjournal.com/index.php/tas/article/view/63 INVESTIGATION OF LIQUID CONCRETE ADDITIVES THAT PROVIDE WATERPROOFING 2023-05-30T18:58:26+03:00 Hüseyin ÖZDEMİR hozdemir_35@hotmail.com Mehmet Fatih ALTAN mehmetfatihtaltan@arel.edu.tr
Concrete is a construction material consisting of homogeneous mixing of cement, water, aggregate and chemical or mineral additives, initially in a plastic consistency, can be shaped, solidified and hardened over time and gains strength. The absolute volume of concrete is 75% aggregate (sand, gravel), 10% cement, and 15% water. Additives can be added when necessary, not more than 2% of the cement weight.

A few hours after the concrete components are mixed, they form a solid structure that loses its plasticity. The chemical reaction that causes this and occurs as a result of the reaction of cement and water is called "hydration".

The objective compressive strength envisaged in concrete production is directly related to the completion of the hydration event during the hardening process of the concrete. Elements required for the completion of hydration in concrete; It is known that the water/cement ratio, which characterizes the amount of water entering the mixture, is highly dependent on the realization of the curing conditions after the concrete has set.

The fact that the concrete components have different physical and chemical properties ensures that the concrete has a heterogeneous structure. As a result of the hydration process, air and water-filled pores form in the concrete. These pores cause the concrete to be partially water permeable. The water entering the concrete structure corrodes the iron reinforcement in the concrete. For this reason, concrete should be protected from the effects of water in underground productions or overseas projects exposed to water.

In this study, it is aimed to examine the water impermeability additives in liquid form used in the production of concrete from different perspectives.
2023-05-30T00:00:00+03:00 Copyright (c) 2023 https://www.tasjournal.com/index.php/tas/article/view/64 Evaluation Of the Use of The Construction Contract Model for Floor in Urban Transformation 2023-05-30T19:02:46+03:00 Payenda Mohammad ZAMANI payendazamani@stu.aydin.edu.tr Mehmet Fatih ALTAN mehmetfatihtaltan@arel.edu.tr
Although urban transformation practices around the world affect the physical conditions and sociological structure of the city, they can have positive or negative results in social life. In this context, the administrations, parties and application methods that will implement the urban transformation projects are very important. In recent years, urban transformation projects have increased rapidly within the scope of the evaluation of worn-out urban areas in Turkey and many regulations have been developed for the re-evaluation of these areas.

In this study, the urban transformation projects realized in Turkey are examined and the model of construction contracts in return for the flat, which is one of the implementation methods of these projects, is discussed. In this context, the effects of the construction contracts in return for flat on the realization of the targets set under the title of urban transformation have been examined and tried to be revealed.
2023-05-30T00:00:00+03:00 Copyright (c) 2023
